Plaza Suite

PLAZA SUITE (a comedy in three acts)
by Neil Simon

The Fort Theatre, Bishopbriggs
23rd to 24th October 2009

Produced by Tony McCaffery

Directed by Tom MacDougall & Corinne Coull

Neil Simon’s biggest Broadway hit: Plaza Suite details the misadventures of three very different couples as they face crucial moments in their respective lives - all in the same hotel room in the world famous Plaza Hotel. Plaza Suite showcases Simon at his best - witty, clever and relentlessly funny.

Tom MacDougall
Director

Joining the School FP Dram Club straight from school was the beginning of a life long interest and involvement in the Theatre. It was also the beginning in a different way, as it was there I was to meet my wife – first glanced leaning on a grand piano in the wings, which many years later our son would play at a school concert. So if you are in a Drama Club – take heed!

Over the years I have acted in and directed many plays in the theatre, for the BBC, Educational TV and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. I thought I had ‘retired’ - and then along came Acting Cubed! Life is full of surprises.

It is a great pleasure and privilege to work for this new drama company bringing their energy, enthusiasm and talent to this Neil Simon classic.

Corinne Coull
Director

Corinne admits that a lifetime in drama has not diminished the excitement she feels at facing up to the task of directing act two of Plaza Suite with acting cubed.

She said: “It was a great pleasure to be invited to direct act two of Plaza Suite by acting cubed, and an even greater pleasure to find myself working with such promising, talented and committed young actors.”
